What is a footer or basement site

A website footer is a slang term among Russian-speaking webmasters and developers. Like many others, it was borrowed from the English language. The word “footer” is translated as “foot, footer or footer”. That is - this is the bottom of the site.
If the site header and the first screen are the most important elements of the site, this does not mean that the basement is useless. The footer can be very functional and bring no less benefit than the rest of the sections.

What usually write at the bottom of the site

A website footer can consist of either one block or several. They may vary slightly in color and have different fillings.

Basement Level 1

In the lowest part of the filed they usually have:
  • logo, copyright and site name
  • statistics counters are traditionally located at the very bottom of the site or make them invisible
  • name of developer or studio
This is the least interesting information for a simple visitor. And they try to remove it away from the reader’s eyes, because it does not bring any significant benefit. In my case, there are duplicated buttons of social networks.

Full-fledged heading navigation. You can often see such a footer on the websites of online stores or large information portals.
